AFSP&L (AFS Projects & Logistics) was formed in 1980 and is now Australia's largest and most experienced Project Forwarding and Logistics Management Company. We attribute our growth over the past 22 years to our dedication in providing clients with a high level of service. This, combined with sound strategic corporate planning and prudent management, has enabled us to form a steadfast reputation in our field. AFS P&L is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Owens Group, a New Zealand Publicly Listed Company employing over 1,300 staff and with a Group turnover exceeding A$400 million per annum. Our Group comprises two key operating companies: AFS Projects & Logistics - Provides a range of services that includes: Project & Logistics Freight Management; Logistics Optimisation and Feasibility Studies; Door to Door Multimodal Freight Management; Cargo expediting and specialised computer documentation, cargo tracking and EDI services; Chartering by Sea and Air; Independent Cargo Management & Supervision for Air & Sea Charters; Consulting Services; Supervision of heavy lifts, outsized, hazardous and abnormal cargo; AFL Freight Management - Provides a range or services that includes: International Freight Forwarding by Sea and Air; Inland Transportation; Cargo Consolidation; Customs Tariff and By-law Advice and Consultancy; Customs Clearance; Warehousing and Storage; Distribution; AFSP&L can be best described as a multi-modal international freight manager, specialising in the door to door movement of cargoes around the world, providing clients with total logistics management packages which are tailor-made to suit individual client requirements. The variety of cargo handled by our Group ranges from "grocery trade" items through to project equipment for the mining, oil exploration and manufacturing industries. Our Group has developed both its export and import freight management operations between all global locations. We have skilled marketing and operational staff to meet the requirements of our clients, as well as our overseas offices and partners. Being fully independent, we are not aligned to any one shipping line, airline or transport company and can offer the benefits of regular shipments on liner and/or tramper (charter) services. Today, AFSP&L have their Corporate Head Office in Brisbane and Branch Offices in Port Moresby, Lae, Noumea and Dili. Our Dili office was opened in December 1999 and has a secure UNTAET Approved licensed Customs Bond Store encompassing Airfreight, LCL, FCL and breakbulk cargoes via seafreight. We are staffed by three expat Australians, along with 26 permanent East Timorese employees. One expatriate is a Licensed Customs Broker within East Timor and we are also registered with the United Nations in the Common Supplier Database as well as with the Procurement Division. The strategic spread of company offices is combined with a highly experienced and respected network of reliable Partners in all major ports of the world and completes our worldwide network. AFSP&L are members of the WWPC (Worldwide Project Consortium), with all members being well credentialled and reliable operators with specialist staff who maintain stringent operational and documentation standards.
