The Dampier Port Authority is a State Government authority operating under the Port Authorities Act 1999, and oversees the operations of the Port of Dampier. The Port of Dampier is one of Australia's largest tonnage Ports with exports of iron ore, salt, LNG, LPG & condensate totalling 82 million tpa (tonnes per annum). The value of exports is in excess of $A 5 billion. The Port is of high strategic value to Australia. The Dampier Port Authority's principal functions are: To facilitate trade within and throughout the Port and plan for future growth and development of the Port; To be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Port. To perform these functions the DPA has a range of powers, including providing, or arranging to be provided, port works, port facilities and port services. The DPA also sets and monitors the regulatory environment in which the Port operates, including discharging the powers of the harbour master. Port of Dampier (Australia) - Dampier Port Authority
