The Ships List  (ID: 1264)

Page 1 of 1           [Back to companies list]

TheShipsList website was first established in August 1999, to help those seeking the details of their ancestors' ships; passenger records; contemporary immigration reports; newspaper records; ship wreck information; ship pictures &c. We quickly outgrew our "personal" webspace and so registered our own domain in May 2000. Since then we have grown to about 1000 totally free access web-pages, with new databases added regularly (see the links between the big arrows). We endeavour to include unique content, rather than duplicating what may be already found online elsewhere. Navigation-bars (buttons and text) have been added to the top of every page to help you find your way around, with some extra details of the main index pages included below. There were a great many companies involved in the ocean trade. The following fleet list is not complete by any means, but is an attempt to collect the names of the companies, a brief history of each and the names of the vessels they used. This information has been extracted from various sources and should only be used as a guide. Any off-site links provided will open a new browser window. Please Note: These pages are under always construction. Not all fleets represented, are complete. For some fleets, those ships which were known, not to have carried passengers, have been omitted. --- This statement is more representative of the fleets initially included on this website. Those added more recently, are more complete. Any feedback about errors or omissions are welcome, and should be sent to Contact :-- March 27th 2003 These descriptions are purely an addendum to Lou Alfano's excellent Immigrant Ships website of ship descriptions All descriptions have been extracted from posts to TheShipsList and Mariners List. Dates are shown as dd/mm/yyyy. The date shown after the ship's name is the year of building, except for links where the date is the year of name change. TheShipsList was established to help seeking the details of ancestors' ships; passenger records; immigration reports; newspaper records; etc. The Ships List
