Company with a capital of 1,200,000 DA, specialized in ships and goods consignment, as well as in ships brokerage, Sarl Seacom was set up on July 7th, 2000, according to accreditation n 267 dated May 13th, 2000, issued by the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria's Ministry of Transports. After the liberalization by State authorities of the consignment activity related to hydrocarbons (oil, gas), chemical products and passengers transport, Seacom was granted on April 17th, 2002, under number 296, an extension of its accreditation to those types of ships, allowing the company to branch out into all maritime transport types. Seacom is a private company which missions consists mainly of : - Ships and goods consignment ; - Maritime brokerage ; - Chartering ; - Protecting. Mainly based on the presence, the availability, and the seriousness of the company's team, which provides a top quality service, the strategy developed by the management staff from the start, motivated the choice of the organization type set by Seacom as well as the choice of its personnel. Having a good knowledge of the business, the management team opted for an actual presence in the main national commercial ports, with experienced and dynamic teams, and the necessary means to ensure the customers' complete satisfaction. Seacom has close ties with national institutions dealing with maritime activities, national and foreign operators, as well as with a great number of shipowners of various nationalities, which, owing to our know-how, are now Seacom partners. Seacom has from the start set an investments programme equal to the company's aims, and allowing it achieve efficiency. Made up at its creation in August 2000, of 15 persons, Seacom has succeeded in five months of activity (August to December), to build up a reputation as a leader of the consignment market, achieving 66 stopovers, corresponding to 512,000 tons of various goods. In 2001, the know-how of the company and its set objectives were confirmed. In fact, during its first complete year of activity, Seacom operated 366 stopovers throughout all national ports, achieving a global tonnage of 1,751,858 tons of goods, of which : Today, Seacom operates an average of 38 ships per month, throughout national ports and foresees a 20% increase of its activity in comparison with 2001. After the deregulation by authorities, of the hydrocarbons ships consignment, Seacom plans to create a specialized unit for the said activity, which unit may be operational immediately after the accreditation extension. On the other hand, in the scope of the company's growth, we just have created a new branch which object is maritime handling, and which will be operational very shortly. Coping with the constant growth of containers transport to Algeria, the company intends to create a bonded containers stock nearby Algiers' port. The company is looking for a suitable area for the project. Medium term project : setting up the Seacom group at the head of the branches operating in the different sectors of the maritime field.
