- Netherlands - Germany - France - United Kingdom - Austria - Marocco - Denmark - Ireland - Hoppers - Stationary - Ploughs - Barges Baggerbedrijf de Boer BV is a medium size dredging company, based in Sliedrecht in the Netherlands. Starting some 40 years ago, with a small bucket dredger, the company operated mainly on the national Dutch market. After a steady growth of the company over the years, the international market was entered in under the English name of Dutch Dredging BV. Allthough the company's main activity is maintenance dredging with trailer suction hopper dredgers, the company owns a wide variety of dredging material like cutter suction dredgers, bucket dredgers, spud leg pontoons with grabs, barges, ploughing and survey vessels etc. The total scope of activities consists of dredging and related operations in the fullest sense. Dutch Coast The Dutch beaches suffer constant damage due to heavy weather and sea conditions. In the last years, Dutch Dredging executed nourishment work by order of the Dutch government (Rijkswaterstaat) on different beaches including: Callantsoog, Den Helder, Noordwijk, Petten, Ameland and Vlieland The works were executed with the trailing suction hopper dredgers Seine (hoppervolume 4317 m3) and the Amazone (hoppervolume 2770m3). A total volume of 15.000,000 m3 of sand was dredged in a sand-winning area at a depth of between 15 m and 20 m. The material was then transported over a maximum sailing distance of approximately 12 nm and dumped at the dumping site close to the beach or pumped onto the beaches through landlines, floating and submerged pipelines. Ketelmeer The Ketelmeer project was the largest environmental dredging project in Europe. Dutch Dredging participated in the project with the environmental bucket dredger Aalscholver . The Aalscholver is specially equipped to work accurately and environmental-friendly. The high precision is necessary because only the contaminated layer has to be removed from the bottom of Lake Ketelmeer. If the dredger does not dig deep enough, pollution will remain behind. Dredging too deep is also disadvantageous because this would result in too much clean mud being taken to the storage depot and taking up 'expensive' depot space there. Spillage is also prevented with a patented emptying system on the bucket and a closed bucket-ladder. The work contained dredging and dumping sediment to a depth of up to 16,8 meters. The sediment is mainly silt and sand, mixed with gravel and clay. The dredged material was transported and dumped in the dumping site. A total volume of about 2.500.000 m3 has been dredged. Our plough Alcyon levelled the soil and dredged the hard to reach spots and corners. Location: Hamburg Period: 2002-2003 Client: W.S.A. The meltwater of the glacier gives sedimentation that causes 2 problems. Primary the lake fills up with sediment and secondly the sand and gravel eventually damages the turbines. Dutch Dredging developed the GrossGlockner a stationary dredger that is fully dismountable. Made up of 16 pontoons, the Grossglockner is efficient in dredging sediments at great depths. Dredging is carried out with careful monitoring and manoeuvring of the suction head, therewith having complete control of the dredging process. The pipe with the suctionhead is lowered into the material through a hoisting installation. This means it does not only dredge the top layer but also the material which is deeper and more compact. When the soil is harder, a cutter head can even be attached to loosen the material. When slides appear that block the suction inlet, the suction head can easily be pulled out. The installed Jet is highly efficient in disintegrating cohesive material. All this makes it a very cost-effective solution for dredging. Light and easy transportable equipment makes it a good solution for even the smallest lake. A continuous high production is coupled to an environmental friendly and time-friendly solution. The dam can continue its work during the dredging and the high production means less time necessary for the operation. Location: Grossglockner Period: 1998-2011 Client: Tauernkraft Description: Maintenance mountain Lake Equipment: Grossglockner Projects in Denmark Location: Grenaa Period: 1993 Client: Rohde Nielsen Description: Dredging and reclamation Equipment: Atlas Projects in Ireland New Ross New Ross is Ireland's only inland port, some 32km from the sea on the River Barrow. In a major capital dredging project, land reclamation, river realignment, construction of breakwaters and river-deepening were undertaken by Dutch Dredging. The river was realigned with the Cutter Dredger Atlas . The material, sand, clay, silt and shells was used for land reclamation. The river and quays were at the same time deepened by the Backhoe-pontoon Obelix , which also placed river groynes and new submerged pipelines.
