The Company Fugro Middle East was established in the United Arab Emirates in 1975, initially, as a geotechnical and foundation engineering organisation. Today, Fugro Middle East provides a complete range of geotechnical, materials testing, surveying and mapping services throughout the Gulf area, India and Pakistan. Fugro Middle East maintains operating offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, with project offices available through agency and joint venture organisations in other Middle East countries, i.e. Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Iran and Yemen. The core of Fugro Middle East activities since the year of establishment have been in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. In particular, in Abu Dhabi, many projects are carried out for major clients in the oil industry and the public sector. Major clients for Fugro Middle East in the oil industry are ADNOC, ADCO, ADMA OPCO and ZADCO, whereas in the public sector direct or indirect projects are carried out for the Public Works Department (PWD), Sewerage and Projects Committee (SPC) and Water and Electricity Department (WED).
