The primary activities of the Shipping Department are port agency, chartering and liner agency. Experienced staff is at your service around the clock, year round, and has the know-how and the local connections to render a second to none service at the port of Fredericia. Fredericia Shipping annually handles more than 1.000 port calls in the Port of Fredericia. Communications is the key word in a succesfull port agency or chartering operation. Fredericia shipping has the Information Technology to facilitate an optimal operation. The chartering department performs world-wide chartering with the Baltic and North Europe as the key areas. Amongst others, the chartering department manages the "M/V LAOLA", a 3.000 dwt. box-type vessel. Fredericia Shipping has a significant operation within the liner agency area with port agency, booking, customer service, documentation and stevedoring. The stevedoring operation is handled through own, dedicated stevedoring organisation. Since the foundation in 1973, Fredericia Shipping has expanded into a modern shipping corporation with a dedicated staff and unique facilities. Headquartered in one of Denmark's largest and most efficient ports, Fredericia Shipping is in a position to meet any of your transportation requirements. Fredericia shipping is located in the junction for East/West- and North/Southbound road and rail traffic in Denmark. The unique location and the outstanding cargo handling facilities makes Fredericia Shipping the ideal turn table for combined sea-land transport and warehouse solutions. The structure in the activities facilitates the creation of optimal transport solutions in close cooperation with customers and suppliers Fredericia Shipping has over the last 20 years developed a turn table for steel distribution in Scandinavia and North Europe via the port of Fredericia. Dedicated office and terminal staff with long time experience in the handling of steel products ensures optimal distribution solutions. Fredericia Shipping annually handles more than 200.000 tons of steel at the terminals in Fredericia. The distribution is carried out by vessel, truck or rail. Quality and flexibility are the key words in the warehouse and distribution solutions which are being tailored to meet the costumer's requirements. To meet the requirements for the storage of steel products, Fredericia Shipping has at its disposal specialized storage areas and humidity controlled warehouses. Fredericia Shipping has been the prime mover in the expansion which over the last 10 years has established the Port of Fredericia as one of the primary ports for bulk cargoes in Denmark. With own, dedicated bulk warehouses, special equipment and trucks, Fredericia Shipping offers complete package solutions from producer to receiver. Fredericia Shipping handles all types of bulk cargos, including grain, feed stuffs, fertiliser ect. 5-600 tons are handled per hour per gang. Board-board or via-pier transshipment services are performed to and from smaller ports in Denmark, Scandinavia and the Baltic. Specially constructed discharge silos vith vacuum ensure an optimal and enviromental safe discharge operation. Loading is performed directly from warehouse to vessel via specialized conveyor belts with automatic scales. Fredericia Shipping has at its disposal more than 9.000 m2 of bulk warehouses with pressure proof walls, licensed weigh bridge and specialised conveyor belts for receipt and delivery and bulk cargos. Receipt and delivery is performed in hopper, with conveyor belt or with loading tractor. FORWARDING A team of experienced staff is the corner stone in the Forwarding Department of Fredericia Shipping. The staff is experienced in all transport and warehouse concepts and can offer the optimal logistical solution to meet the costumer's requirements. Furniture and other palletised cargoes from Scandinavian producers are consolidated in the warehouses in Fredericia for distribution directly to receivers in Central and North Europa. Fredericia Shipping has specialised in containerised and non-containerised project shipments all over the world. Containerised and non-containerised consolidation is offered at our own terminal by Fredericia Shipping Terminal Services. Iron and steel is one of our specialities.. Fredericia Shipping has developed a turn table concept around Fredericia in close cooperation with producers and recievers. Iron and steel from Scandinavian and Central European producers are distributed to the receivers via truck or rail. TERMINAL SERVICES Fredericia Shipping Terminal Services is the heart of the physical cargo handling with activities within stevedoring, warehousing, equipment rental, loading/unloading an consolidation/deconsolidation of container and project cargo. The 30 person strong staff is at your service around the clock, year around. Fredericia Shipping has at its disposal more than 30.000 m2 of storage areas, of which 25.000 are in warehouses, adjacent to the pier and rail tracks and only 5. min from highway system. All stevedoring is preformed in-house via own dedicated staff and equipment, including steel stevedoring, ro/ro, bulk, palletised cargoes, containers etc. An extensive fleet of own equipment with more than 25 units ensure a reliable and fast cargo operation. The equipment fleet includes amongst others 50 tons container truck, 14-20 ton steel trucks, 2-6 ton trucks for palletised cargoes, EL-trucks, tug-masters, loader tractors and bobcats.
