Anchorage dues: Law 255/91 reconfirmed that vessels calling Italian ports for commercial operations (loading / discharge) are to pay dues at owners option as follows: uro 0,723 per vessel's NRT (valid 30 days). uro 1,582 per vessel's NRT (valid 1 year). Revised dues for containerships in trashipment ports will be decreased as from October 1997. Ships whose country have not reciprocal treaty with Italy are not allowed to pay yearly dues and can only pay uro1,582 per ship's NRT (valid 30 days only). more details..... Free-pratique: Guaranteed by Sanitary Officers only during daylight: In order to avoid delay and extra costs, we recommended owners to instruct Masters to request free-pratique via Radio with full required information according to international conventions in order that the cable reaches Sanimare offices during working hours and suggest no later than 24 hours prior to arrival. Main formalities: Masters of tankers calling for loading / discharging or carrying dangerous chemichal cargoes are to attend to the following formalities: AAA) Cable to "Sanimare" requesting free pratique via radio; BBB) Telex to "Compamare" (Harbour Master) the following information: - Vessel's name / flag / call sign / GRT / NRT / LOA / max draft; - ETA / Agent's name / Reason of call / cargo/es quality, quantity or ballast if any; - CLC / CLASS certificate validity, number / expiring date; - Safety Management Certificate & Document of compliance expiring date; - IMO Certificate: expiring date (fitness certificate to carry chemical products in bulk / LPG in bulk according IMO code) - Memorandum of Paris: date of issue (Paris 2982), prescriptions if any. Also following declaration: State efficiency loading / discharging equipment vessel's safety services in accordance with port order. I assure commencement of commercial operations only after harbour master's permission and to observe safety port regulations. I also declare that officers on duty for loading / discharge operations in possession of the certificate of competence (stcw 78) - Signed: Master's name. Pilot Tariffs: In most ports, now, pilots allow discounts to vessels calling more than 4-5 times in a quarter at each port. We have taken up this matter, again, with the concerned Authorities as we feel that discounts are to be allowed even for a single call. Moorers / Boatmen: Same as above.
