Maersk Osterreich GmbH represents Maersk Sealand in Austria. Austria has for many years been recognized as a major gateway between Western and Eastern Europe. The long established relationships with neighbouring countries ensure Austria's future importance with goods in transit. Austria has a strategic location in the center of Europe with excellent access to established Western and emerging Eastern markets. Further, Austria offers connections to the Northern ports of Bremerhaven (being the preferred port for Austrian cargo), Hamburg, Antwerp and Rotterdam, as well as to the Southern ports of Koper and Trieste. The office in Vienna was opened in 1987 with a staff of only 4 people. Since then our business has grown significantly, both in volume and scope. Today 25 people are working within our office (including Maersk Logistics), offering a high quality service that proactively meets our valued customer's requirements efficiently and professionally. In 1990 Maersk Logistics started operation in Austria. The main business areas include sea and airfreight, and has since then developed into a recognized quality player in the Austrian logistics market with dedicated and experienced staff ready to handle all logistics requirements of our customers.
