THE COMPANY van Doosselaere & Achten was established in 1939 by two Antwerp families with a traditional Belgian maritime background and still to-day is owned by members of the same families. Real activities in fact only started after world-war II in 1945 when very soon the first representations of regular liner services to the Mediterranean were obtained. Over the years and in fact over three generations for each family, the company slowly developed to become one of the main Belgian liner agents. Through the establishment of new companies, mergers and take overs, the original van Doosselaere & Achten company grew to become a group of companies specialized in all aspects of commerce and transportation. The present partners in the company are : Mrs. Eliane Achten, grand-daughter of one of the founders, whilst the other partner is Mr. Yves van Doosselaere who is also grand-son of the other founder and Mrs . Aline Koninckx, daughter of Mrs. Eliane Achten. Over the years and in fact over three generations for each family, the company slowly developed to become one of the main Belgian liner agents.
