On 6 March 1998 hoverspeed reinstated the historic Cross-Channel link between the UK and Belgium with a new fast car ferry service from Dover to Ostend. Two 81 metre seacats, Rapide and Diamant began the service providing up to seven return departures daily with a crossing time of just two hours. Since Spring 2001, a new look superseacat fleet operates services between the two ports with a crossing time of just 2 hours.
