Qinhuangdao Riching Dockyard Co., Ltd. (QRD) is a joint-venture company of Shanhaiguan Shipyard(one of the largest shipyards in China, belonging to CSIC with 25 years experience in ship repair and conversion) and China United Co., Ltd. and South Rich International Industries Ltd. of Hong Kong, located in Qinhuangdao, Hebei, China, on the north coast of Bohai and about 315 km from Beijing. QRD operates a graving VLCC dock, 340x64x12.8m, and also acting a trading company of Shanhaiguan shipyard, which is equipped with 7 quays, 1574 m at a depth of 7-9m, a full range fabrication&construction equipment and 9 integrated specialized work shops. P-33 and P-35 are conversion contracted by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) for Petrobras from VLCC Henrique Dias, 278,000 dwt, and VLOO Jose Bonifacio, 270,000 dwt into FPSOs (Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading System). Most of the conversions were executed at/by our yard in cooperation with HHI, in compliance with the rules and regulations of ABS and standards of API, including 19,700 tons of steel structure, 4,600 tons of piping, 700,000 meters of cable laying, 700,000 m2 of tank and hull blasting and coating, and 2,300 set of equipment installation and all the installation of accommodation. After completion, the FPSOs will be towed to Marlim Field, offshore Brazil, and installed in a water depth of 790m and used for 20 years. The production capacity will consist of oil production and treatment of 500,000 bopd, gas compression of 2,000,000 Nm3/d and gas treatment and export of 1,500,000 Nm3/d.
