Inland Navigation Europe is the platform for the promotion of inland waterway transport in Europe. It has been created in 2000 with the support of the European Commission. INE members actively promote inland shipping and can provide you with practical and dedicated information. The permanent office in Brussels is responsible for the contacts with the EU institutions. Inland shipping still has a great growth potential, as regards capacity as well as logistic possibilities. In order to use this potential adequately and to take the necessary steps at the political and transport-economic level, INE's mission is to carry out targeted information and public relations work, which will convey in a more distinct way than before the contribution of inland navigation to the sustainable development of the European transport system. Objectives: to inform the European institutions in a comprehensive manner about the performance and potential of inland navigation. developing extensive synergies through cross-border collaboration and the member organizations to reinforce the public relations and information work of the existing national and regional inland navigation organizations Inland shipping still has a great growth potential, as regards capacity as well as logistic possibilities.
