Drycargo CONTACTS The drycargo department of Frachtcontor specialises in arranging the seaborne transportion of major bulk commodities, such as iron ore and coal, which are shipped in bulkcarriers of up to 360,000 tons deadweight, as well as steel and steel products, scrap, minerals, fertilizer and forest products in sizes down to 1,000 tons. Cape and Panamax Team This team maintains a close relationship to the majority of German steel mills and assists them in covering their tonnage requirements for the ocean transportation of iron ore and coal in the most economical way. A number of other European steel mills are similarly making use of the company s know-how and worldwide connections, and have appointed the company to their panel of Chartering Brokers. Another very important group of customers for this team are utilities, as well as producers, exporters, importers and traders of - predominantly - steam coal, who are conducting their business in Germany, in Europe and in South Africa. The majority of iron ore and coal is transported in Capesize bulkcarriers (from 100,000 to 360,000 tons), with Panamax vessels (50/80,000 tons) taking second place. In addition, FCJ services Owners and Operators of Capesize and Panamax bulkcarriers, providing them with suitable cargoes (or vessels) whatever their requirements may be at any particular time. The Panamax team services, on an exclusive basis, a fleet of OBO (ore-bulk-oil) vessels and maintains a very close working relationship to shipping companies in Germany which own or control Panamax bulkcarriers. Handysize Team This team services Owners and Charterers of geared and gearless bulkcarriers up to about 40,000 tons worldwide, especially in connection with the ocean transportation of steel and steel products for specific Charterers. Period and trip timecharters are arranged as well as ocean transportation of general cargo, grain and minor bulk cargoes like minerals, cement, timber, etc. In addition, a number of close Owners and Operators use the services provided by this team for the employment of their Handy and Handymax tonnage (of 25/45,000 tons). Coaster Team The Coaster team deals, in general terms, with the same commodities mentioned above when transported in smaller ship sizes, either for trades from/to or between smaller ports within the Baltic, North Sea, Mediterranean and Black Sea, or for distribution from large vessels calling only at the major transportation hub ports, thereby offering almost door-to-door solutions for Customers. The team also quotes for worldwide parcel business, project cargoes and combined sea and inland waterway transportation. The department provides Customers with first-class services by addressing their maritime transportation requirements with tailor-made solutions. Port Agency for Tramp Vessels and Liner Services* CONTACTS The company maintains own offices and highly-qualified staff at all main ports within the Antwerp-Gdansk range, i.e. in Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, and Poland. Like the Hamburg head office, all offices have been DIN EN ISO 9002 accredited since 1996. This department focuses on Port Agency service for tramp vessels of any size from Ultra Large Crude Carriers and Capesize bulkcarriers to coastal vessels loading or discharging all kinds of tank cargoes (crude oil, dirty and clean oil products, chemicals, etc.), dry bulk and breakbulk cargoes (like iron ore, coal, petcoke, steel and steel products, metal scrap, fertilizers, minerals, stone aggregates, timber, etc.), or calling at ports for drydocking and repairs. Apart from close attendance to each vessel s particular requirements (like crew matters, contracting of economical provisions, stores, repairs), services offered include logistical contributions to the handling (loading and discharging) and distribution of dry and liquid bulk cargoes, and of project cargoes onshore and offshore.
