Erected on 69 m towers and with an arm length of 41 m each Turbine has a capacity of 2.2 MW with an expected combined outlet of 158.4 MW by completion of the installations which is expected in July 2003. The m/v Ocean Ady will perform an estimated eighteen voyages laden with about 10,500 cubic meters of towers, nacelles and arms to be installed on foundations 3,5 meters above sea level by the vessels heavy lift crane using her semi jack-up facility. The installations will be performed by up to seventeen engineers in co-operation with vessels crew of ten. June 2002 Worlds largest offshore wind turbine installation On Saturday, 13th April 2002, the m/v Ocean Hanne loaded at the port of Esbjerg, the first of eighty 2.0 MW wind turbines to be erected at the Horns Rev site in the North Sea about 8-12 Nautical miles off the West Coast of Jutland in water dephts varying between 6 and 15 m. When completed, this will be the worlds largest offshore wind turbine installation. The ship has been fitted with additional accommodation for upto 25 extra personnel, a mounted lattice Boomcrane and 4 tension legs for stabilising the vessel during crane operations. The sister vessel m/v Ocean Ady , similarly fitted, joined the operation on 3rd May 2002. It is expected that the 2 vessels will have completed the operation by mid/end September 2002. June 2001 DS Orion announces conversion project Off-shore Construction Vessel During 3rd quarter of 2001 D/S ORION A/S shall be converting, at Orskov Christensens Staalskibsvaerft, Frederikshavn, the m/v "Ocean Hanne", into a high altitude construction vessel with the capacity to perform precision lifts of upto 70 m above sea level. The conversion will be performed in accordance with a patented method developed in cooperation with A2Sea A/S , Fredericia. Working Conditions: For cranage: Max 12 m/s For jacking up and down: Max significant wave height, Hs = 1.5 m Water depth: Min 3 m - Max 15 m Lifting Capacities: Heights upto 70 m with weights upto 100 mt 110 mt at 20 m outreach 320 mt at 6 m outreach May 2001 DS Orion introduces their new homepage DS Orion launces their new homepage. March 2001 Ocean Ady in the English Cannel 3100 DWT - Container/ro-ro carrier loaded with 16 complete 600 kw windmills incl. pipetowers 50 metres tall, travelling from Denmark to Greece, all in all approximately 7000 cbm/3000 sqm. Of these, only about 20 pct. may be overstacked, hence the untraditional solution, where some of the towersections are positioned in an upright position. This, in turn, requires a unique method of lashing, which has been developed strictly for this purpose. Dampskibsselskabet Orion A/S
