Private shipping agency registered in early 1992. The foundation of the Company was initiated in the early 80's when the founders of the Company Mr. S. Niego and Capt. H. Shezifi have jointly established their first shipping agency which covered mainly tramp ships, breakbulk and bulk ships calling Israel, as well as brokerage, chartering and management of shipping projects. At the end of 1982 "C.I.S. Shipping Agency Ltd." was established, a pure liner shipping agency dedicated for liner container services. For over 10 years of liner activities C.I.S. became one of the leading and successful agencies in Israel, maintaining the highest level of "customer service" in Israel. In 1992 to cope with need to serve "Contship Container Lines - OF U.K.", a new agency was established: "CARMEL INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING SERVICES (1992) LTD." In mid 1994 the agency was nominated as general agents for: "China Ocean Shipping (Group) Co." : C. O. S. C. O. In mid 1995 the Company was nominated by Marigulf as its general agent for Israel- Black Sea Mediterranean Line.. In mid 1996 "Swedish Orient Line" S.O.L. has nominated the Company as its general agent for Israel. At the end of 1997 the Company was nominated by "Grupo Libra of Brazil", container service Paulista as its general agent for Israel. In 1997 the Company increased its activities in "door to door" services in order to improve the level of the customer service. In 2000 the Company started offering Admiral liner service connecting Turkey and Israel. MTL the new conventional (break balk) liner service is provided by MTL - lines from baltic ports to israel with bi - monthly sailings, started fm jan. 2002. Chartering and brokerage activities: All along the years since its establishment the Company has been very extensively involved in the Israeli market as well as activities in world-wide and competitive market with all types of chartered voyages for various accounts, some of them as long as one year and some up to six years and others for shorter duration of few weeks. During the years the Company shipped a number of project cargoes such as desalination machinery to destinations world-wide as well as military shipments especially patrol boats, as we are fully recognized carrier acceptable by Ministry of Defense for their various activities. Since its establishment the Company has gained full trust, recognition and representation of various owners and rendered agency services for their vessels calling Israel; among them are "Seatrade" (Scaldis), "Polembros Shipping London", "Jebsens London", "Western Bulk", "Nomadic International Bergen", "Frahuil Marseilles", "Kaptanoglu Istanbul", "Litas Likid Istanbul", "Orion Shipping, Istanbul", "Tango Marine, Istanbul", "Prestige Shipping, Illichevsk" "Slobodna Plovidba, Croatia", "Capelle Chartering, Rotterdam" and many others. The Company also gives agency services and brokerage to vegetable oil tankers and oil tankers as well as to passenger ships. From time to time the Company is also involved in management of vessels as well as sale-purchase brokerage and always available for consultation to all interested parties. All along the years since its establishment the Company has been very extensively involved in the Israeli market as well as activities in world-wide.
