Coasts, Coastal Ships, Captains. Oskar Wehr was born in Koblenz in 1921. Inspired by shipping on the Rhine, he felt drawn to the coast. Moulded at the Seamen s Academy in Bremen, he embarked on the classical career path of a mariner: his first job was on a cargo ship and, later, as officer on a number of different freighters. During this time, he moved to Hamburg.His first ship, the Anne , lay submerged four metres below the surface in the Port of Hamburg. With a great deal of entrepreneurial initiative, he purchased, raised and overhauled the Anne . Buoyed by Germany s post-war economic recovery, Oskar Wehr charted his course for success, and established what is today a well-known shipping company. About us Charters, Carriers, Containers.
