BP has been represented in the country since 1992 and has become its leading international investor and operator. Currently we operate four oil and gas exploration and development contractsincluding the giant Azeri, Chirag and deepwater Gunashli oil field and Shah Deniz gas field. We manage the construction of two pipelines the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the South Caucasus gas pipeline and the expansion of the Sangachal oil and gas processing terminal. Offshore exploration in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea is also managed from Baku. With domestic gas fields running down, BP is looking at the viability of LNG as a clean fuel with which to generate electricity. As an agricultural nation New Zealand has a plentiful resource of animal tallow as a by-product of our sheep and beef industries. BP is leading domestic trials through which this tallow is converted into bio-diesel and is looking to lead the uptake of biofuels in New Zealand.
