Our shipping activities Reederei Bernd Sibum GmbH & Co. KG was founded on 11/01/1995 in Haren (Ems) to continue the shipowning tradition of the Sibum family. In the year 1997, the commissioning of the MV "Stefan Sibum" took place. One year later, the delivery of the MV "Gerd Sibum" followed. Both vessels were built at German shipyards. MV "Anne Sibum", a secondhand container vessel has been purchased in December 2000. MV "Anne Sibum" has got a container capacity of 659 TEU and a deadweight of 10.800 tdw. In June 2001 and in March 2002, two additional secondhand vessels have been taken over. MV "Adelheid Sibum" (building year 2000) and MV "Hermann Sibum" (building year 1998) have a deadweight of about 3.700 tdw. Our company is presently operating the following five vessels: Seaboard Ranger ex Stefan Sibum , Gerd Sibum , Anne Sibum , Neuwerk ex Adelheid Sibum and Hermann Sibum . These vessels are engaged in worldwide trade according to their specifications as container-, multi-purpose or general cargo vessels. All vessels operated by the Sibum family are well-known for their excellent performance and flexibility in worldwide trade. They have been employed by the following charterers on basis of long term time charter: Maersk Line, Sealand, BG Freight Line, Servizzi Marittimi, King Ocean Services, Seafreight Line, Associated Container Transportation ACT(A), BBC Chartering & Logistic, Seaboard Marine, Deutsche Nah-Ost-Linien (DNOL), Sarlis Container Services, Independent Container Lines (ICL), Sea Consortium, Mitsui O.S.K. Line, RNO, Bror Hussell and Kent Line. The shipping company - The Sibum family The Sibum family looks back at a long tradition in shipping history. In the 19th century, she already played an outstanding roll as yard owner in building punts and sailing vessels in Haren. In 1953, the brothers Stefan and Hermann Sibum carried out the turning away from shipbuilding to shipping business by purchasing their first coaster MV "Gerd". Up to now, shipping company`s fleet has constantly been adapted to up-to-date trade demands because of newbuildings or sale and purchase. Since the foundation of the shipping company, the vessels have been operated successfully. In this connection, the character of a family company has always been protected. A conscientious and personal operating of the vessels has always been of great value. That is how the shipping company purchased an adequate reputation in shipping and is today appreciated as a reliable and trustworthy partner. Since a new generation has taken over at the beginning of the 90`s, the shipping company is managed by Captain Bernd Sibum, who is supported by his wife Anne Fehren-Sibum at commercial settlements in business.
