The principal port of Newlyn, accommodates some 25 beam trawlers, 20 static netters, many mixed size trawlers, a hand-line mackerel fleet along with many shellfish boats. The average "trip" of the larger vessels is 4 to 6 days, approximately half the length of time that many of Europe's fleets spend at sea. The port also has "day boats" landing overnight providing a continuous supply of fresh fish, weather permitting. This mix of vessels and their various methods of fishery afford Wing of St. Mawes the best possible opportunity to source the freshest fish on a daily basis. Wing of St. Mawes operates from a 550 square metre "State of the Art" new premises in the middle of the County. Our delivery service provides reliable, smooth and easy distribution to most destinations. The company currently operates with 15 staff, processing all species of fish on a daily basis. The company's own trawler/Scalloper lands direct on a regular basis along with other vessels from the locality.
